Halifax's loose leaf tea journey did not begin with Sawadee. The Tea Brewery had a shop in Halifax Shopping Centre long before that, and would set up seasonal kiosks in various other locations.
More information is definitely needed. They claim that the transfer based system will quicken times, but they failed to provide any sort of time tables when they were asking the public for input. How do we know if the new routes will work if we don't know connection times?
An example: I currently take the 54 from Tacoma to Alderney Gate. Takes about twenty minutes. The new plan does something weird where they've eliminated the 54 and combined with the 10 and only goes to Micmac. Which means, I'd have to take that, then transfer to the 55. Well, unless the 55 is sitting there waiting, no matter what, it's going to take longer than the direct route I've been using. So, how is that shorter?
Also, they're taking away the Portland Hills and Penhorn stops for the 56 and instead sending it to the bridge terminal. So, I guess no one on this side of Micmac wants to go to Dartmouth Crossing? I'm certainly not going to take a bus to the bridge then backtrack up to DC. It already takes too long to get to DC, I'll just stop going there.
It would have been nice if they'd actually asked people who use transit for more than just getting to work what kind of routes we use and places we try to get to. As you said in the article, how many useful places can we get to in less than forty five minutes? The answer- not many.

Are you still in high school? If not, what do you do for a living that they allow leggings with short shirts? If you're still in high school, you may be in a for a rude awakening when it comes time to work. Although, I'm sure there are some jobs where anything goes, you're going to find those are few and far between. You'll likely have to suck it up and buy real pants, or start wearing skirts.
Hey, I'm not totally heartless to your situation, I also have difficulty getting pants that fit my shape. I have a small waist, an exaggerated lumbar curve, and larger thighs than you would expect for a small person. So, I learned to tailor my clothes. It's a nuisance, but it beats paying someone else to do it. You might want to look into it, it's not really that hard to learn.
Add more ferries? Where would more ferries magically appear from? The ones we have are in full service during the morning commute on a fifteen minute schedule. It takes about fifteen minutes from point to point and loading/unloading passengers. Can't make it go any faster. How exactly could that service be increased? It's not like there's ferries not in use sitting around waiting for times like these to be utilized.
No, I'm not buying it, the author is just one of those spoiled drivers that thinks there should never be a hold-up or delay on their precious roads. Reality check- not everything is foreseeable in the world of construction. Shit happens.
What this article neglects to mention is, when this motion was brought forward, it was suggested that should it be implemented, that it would be for the next set of councillors, not the one's currently in. Should the current ones not be re-elected next year, they still would not get the severance.
This is a little known bit of history. I've gotten looks of shock when I've told people about the graves under the library grounds. They think it can't be true because of the lack of a plaque or marker.
You'd think after this length of time the city would put up some sort of plaque. Maybe they're concerned the public won't want to walk on the grounds once they learn it's a burial site.
