you can't hold a cell phone while in the driver's seat of a car whether its moving or stopped on the street. The video clearly shows him with the phone in hand while the car is on the street, its definitely not on the shoulder of the road. Anyone who has gotten one of those $300 tickets understands. Just because Whitman is a politician, the law is the law.
Bailie's own candidate in the next election, Matt Whitman is tied to this in a negative way....google Matt Whitman taxi commission. Matt Whitman was the chair of the taxi commission when this was all coming down. It's shocking on how he voted.
Halifax Council must address this the near monopoly one very large Nova Scotia company has on all paving projects in the province. Over the years a number of independent paving companies were bought up and now one large near monoploy exists. As taxpayers this is not good for competition. The previous NDP Gov tried to start a government run paving company but that did not work out. Halifax council needs to watch costs and having Scotian Materials active in the province is good for all tax payers, both in Halifax and across Nova Scotia. The City of Halifax has how many thousand km of roads and streets and they are all pavement. It's Halifax Council's job to ensure all our tax dollars are spent correctly. Its pretty sad if paving tenders are issues and only one bid is submitted. Halifax Council will address this issue on the rules and what is best for all tax payers of Halifax.

Hipp5...I don't pay a councillor $82,0000 for being on twitter all day and re-tweeting tweets during council. Likewise I don't pay a councillor $82,000 to re-direct 311 calls. I also don't pay a councillor $82,000 to take selfies.
The emissions here in Nova Scotia are not even close to what is spewing from Ontario, US Cities, and industrialized Asia. It's not an issue for Nova Scotia. Trudeau and this carbon tax is all wrong for NS.
Street checks are needed, I have a sleeping disorder so I'm awake at night sometimes. When I watch some of the clowns walking down the side walk at 2am, I wonder, what are you doing up at this time, you don't live on my street, you are not dressed for work, and you look, well just plain suspicious. The place, the attire, the time all factor in. Sorry to offend but its true.
