Though Salty’s offers fish worth their weight in gold, you can get a bowl of seafood chowder—apparently, the best in the city—for under six bucks, and the servers will tell you it’s big enough for a meal in itself. What’s so irresistable about it? “I don’t even know,” says one server. “It’s just really good.” It sounds so simple—potatoes, carrots, shrimp, scallops and haddock. It seems hard to go wrong with, but a really good chowder is still a really good find.
