Seven years running, Rouge Fatale has lip-synced, vamped and shimmied her way into gold. “It’s unbelievable,” says Fatale (AKA Jason Rose-Spurrell). “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” Fatale understands there’s strength in numbers and 2015 will bring some new projects with Eureka Love and Farrah Moan: “We have a few things up our sleeves.” Fatale’s inspiration from a young age was Dame Edna Everage. “She’s a hoot,” Rose-Spurrell says. “I was just blown away by this purple-haired woman who was actually a man, married with children. I thought this is the best job ever.” For Fatale’s onstage performances, Rose-Spurrell channels the women in his family: “Every woman in my family has helped create Rouge. I think they’re flattered and scared at the same time.”
