What can we say? The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is a big gun in this category, consistently placing in the top three (more often than not, taking the gold) for as long as we’ve been asking for your faves. They’re the greatest, and we talk like that ‘cause they can back it up. Curator Sarah Fillmore brings the best in contemporary art to the floors and walls of the gallery as well as folk art in the Maud Lewis gallery and 300 years of Nova Scotian art in the permanent collection. Also the home of the Sobey Art Award, this year’s Sobey Award exhibit is up at the gallery until January 5, featuring the stunning work of award-winner Duane Linklater.
