For 16 years Argyle Street’s Bitter End has made a name for itself based on its shaken and stirred selection. A martini and cocktail bar first and foremost—the establishment boasts on its website that its served “well over one million martinis”—the most popular evenings here are Mondays (the most bitter of days), where $6.50 gets you a sometimes stiff, sometimes sweet, two-ounce drink. There’s music on the menu too, with live jazz and both local and visiting DJs providing an entertaining atmosphere for sipping on the regular.
