Best Rehearsal Space

Gold Winner Rockopolis

Silver Winner Canvasland

Bronze Winner The Church of Destruction

After Rock Garden passed the rehearsal space torch to Rockopolis last year, a collective sigh of relief was heaved from the music community that the beloved spot wouldn’t close. Adorned with a new coat of paint, the Hunter Street practice space thankfully remains a staple for bands who need a place to make some noise. Cozy couches in the lobby, fresh coffee in the pot, upright basses in various states of repair, local music for sale and a friendly, dozing dog give this place its charm. It’s actually easy to hang out in there, which is saying something considering that it’s a basement with up to eight bands jamming at once. Owners Pete Green and Sande Jordan, who also offer graphic design and event planning services, keep our city’s bands well-practiced, something every fan can thank them for.
