It was a close race in this category, but Halifax’s long-awaited Baan Thai pulled out in the lead as your pick for best new restaurant. Owner’s Victor and Sue Woo temporarily shut down their other restaurant (Thai Chilli House) early this year to concentrate all their efforts into starting this new venture. While they awaited for a cargo ship from Thailand to deliver the furniture and artwork, Woo and a team of cooks set to work perfecting the recipes that are keeping Thai food lovers coming back for more.
