Best Restaurant

Gold Winner Brooklyn Warehouse

Silver Winner Chives Canadian Bistro

Bronze Winner The Wooden Monkey

Another year and another strong showing from the good people at Brooklyn, who in 2008 took a quiet corner in the north end and made it one of Halifax’s essential food destinations, winning Best New Restaurant from Coast readers and appearing in the poll every year since. This year the restaurant once again takes the crown for the city’s Best Restaurant, while also scooping Best Caesar (the beverage) and Best Atmosphere, and appearing as a runner-up in the Best Chef, Best Burger, Best Salad, Best Crew of Regular Customers and Best Server categories. It’s an unparalleled recognition in this poll. The big news at Brooklyn, aside from the continuing love of voters, is the result of the past year of renovation; an all-season atrium has expanded the restaurant, so look forward to summer patio fun up there this year.
