Remember how awesome it was back in school when you had to take mandatory gym classes and learn everything from floor hockey to kickball? I was the kid hiding in the corner and trying not to make eye contact with team captains. There’s nothing like a spirited game of dodgeball (and the occasional ball to the face) to get you in the learning mood. Some things never change---or rather, some people actually like sports, and that never seems to change. From the gold-winning QMJHL, which provides the endlessly entertaining Halifax Moosheads games (beer-soaked is better), to the Halifax Roller Derby Association where killer attitudes and awesomeness prevail, all the way to the Halifax Sport & Social Club---a place where you can go if you never wanted to leave the school gym in the first place. There’s something out there for everyone, you just have to want to participate.
