After its third (and busiest) season, the Halifax Roller Derby Association is 100 strong between skaters, refs and volunteers. That’s 100 people you do not want to mess with. These ladies are hell on wheels, with a season of 17 games and two tourneys behind them. They send shouts out to HRM’s Lake Echo, Devonshire and Needham rec centres, and photographer pal Richard LaFortune. “We want to thank everyone who came out to cheer us on through the season,” adds HRDA’s Christina Shaffer (AKA Skatey). “Halifax is known for having some of the best and most enthusiastic derby fans in the Maritimes!”
