Morag MacDonald

“I never wanted to be one of those people with waiting lists,” says Morag MacDonald. When MacDonald settled in Halifax and began Counselling for Change in 1990, she started out with a single client. And though her practice has steadily grown from there through word of mouth, waiting lists still aren’t her style. MacDonald describes her approach as that of a teacher, focussing on the personal growth process and helping her clients come to better understandings of themselves. MacDonald’s book of inspirational quotations, Wisdom that Sticks, is available locally at the Bookroom, P’lovers and Mills Brothers. It seems some of her wisdom has already stuck, as she’s your choice for Halifax’s best therapist. Counselling for Change, 425-1565

Runners-up (TIE): Timothy Walker (Counsellor Training Institute) and Mark Kent (Stress Management and Wellness Centre)
