“If he's lucky I'll bring him to the awards ceremony,” laughs Brian MacKay, making a playful dig at T-Room trivia’s Stan Selig, who’s been knocked from the top seat of this category after four years. MacKay’s been hosting Rogues’ jam-packed Wednesday nights since 2007, boggling minds with his cleverly named categories, split-second song clips and general nerdiness (he still pays to subscribe to Encyclopedia Brittanica). “I think it’s the bar,” says MacKay modestly of the popular weekly battle for bragging rights. “It’s the same faces every week behind the bar, some of the best brew in Halifax and it’s kind of a come as you are kind of place.”
