Remarks: If this much-tagged but unloved sign is familiar from Coast pages, it’s because it was in On Patrol in March 2006. Not much good has happened to the sign since then. Finding who’s responsible for fixing non-traffic-related provincial signage is tough, but Public Works put us on to communications officer Hance Colburne at the Department of Community Services. “We put in a request to have the sign replaced,” he says, adding that the people in charge may find a more “prudent placement” of the sign to avoid the repeated graffiti. So, you see, poor sign, you haven’t been forgotten.
Who's Responsible?: Good question. Best bet is the NS Department of Transportation and Public Works. 424-2297.
