Bucky Larson: Born To Be a Star is blindingly awful

Adam Sandler's company produces a turd of a movie

While jerking off with a few friends to a vintage skin flick that turns out to star his parents, a buck-toothed, poorly-endowed hick with Anton Chigurh hair (Nick Swardson) is inspired to go to Los Angeles and get into the porn business. I am hardly patting myself on the back when I say that the previous sentence is funnier than anything in the movie. Co-written by Adam Sandler and powered by his production company---probably the only reason it got beyond the one-line pitch phase---Bucky Larson is full of lame and inexcusably tame jokes about porno and Bucky’s teeth, and the main character’s romance with a sweet waitress (Christina Ricci) isn’t even plausible by the standards of lowbrow comedy. Easily one of the worst films of the year.

Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star is not showing in any theaters in the area.
