Dear Mr. Wark,
Congratulations on your fine editorial regarding the CBC lockout ("Tough lock" August 18). This is a real Canadian tragedy. In that same issue, Lezlie Lowe's "Time machine" article also affected me; and "On the line" by Stephanie Domet, with her very personal reaction on the lockout's change to her life, saddened me.
I want you to know that there are people who care, and not only because of missing Tom Allen and Shelly Soames and the other favourites who brighten the day.
Yes, Mr. Wark, there are some who recall that when a dictator of any country has taken over a government, step number one was to seize control of the media—radio and press—and that's quite a disturbing factual memory.
