Deck the halls with handmade treasures

The fifth annual Halifax Crafters Winter Carnival turns the Olympic Centre into a shopper's paradise.

On the average day, The Olympic Centre is an unlikely venue for one stop shopping, but not this weekend. Packed under its roof will be oodles of one-of-a-kind items that you may want to keep for yourself. It's the fifth year for the ever-growing Halifax Crafters holiday market, a juried collection of gift-worthy gems from local artists. Kat Frick Miller, Caitlyn Purcell, Geordan Moore and Rilla Marshall are just a few of the over 75 vendors boasting treasures from  leatherwork to jewelry to book binding to textiles. Food vendors will provide shopping sustenance and sweet-tooth fixes while CKDU plays the event's soundtrack. Step right up and have yourself a handmade holiday.

Saturday Dec 4- Sunday Dec 5, The Olympic Centre, 2304 Hunter St, 11am-6pm
