This block of sidewalk near the corner of Buddy Daye and Maynard looks like it had a fight with a jackhammer and lost.

Remarks: After reporting the problem, we had a call back from the city informing us that they couldn’t find Buddy Daye Street—it didn’t appear to exist in their records. Hmm. Not off to a rousing start. Buddy Daye was formerly called Gerrish Street, but the street was renamed in June, roughly four months ago. We explained the name change, which seemed to come as news to the Transportation and Public Works employee on the other end of the line, and then we hung up the phone and cried a little.
