An anthology TV series with episodes by renowned horror filmmakers sounds irresistible to genre fans. Shot in Vancouver, with cinematographers imposed upon the directors, the episodes look more like TV than stand alone films. But the storytelling can really take off. In the first season, Dario Argento, Joe Dante, Takashi Miike and Stuart Gordon deliver while John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper fall short. Packaged in a mausoleum-shaped box, the whole thing ends up pretty cool.
