New Year's take two

Here are two surefire ways to keep the party going into 2012.

New Year's take two
A Caesar's a must for the day after NYE.

You'll likely be recovering from the previous night out, but if you can manage to drag your self out of the house (and bed) by 3pm...you should probably hit the levee scene. Every host has a different take on the traditional day-after gathering for reflection, looking forward and sharing stories of the night before, but essentially levees extend the celebrations into a second day. Our friendz at Menz know what it's all about though: free comfort food. Trust us, a hot meal will make you feel much better. Doug and David's new year's day soiree welcomes you to enjoy homemade chili that'll light a little fire in your belly, and Canadian Moose Milk to cool you back down. Who can refuse a boozy, ice creamy, festive concoction? Not us. For a friendly neighbourhood get together that's worth getting out of pyjamas for, head here.

Sunday January 1, Menz Bar, 2182 Gottingen Street, 3-6pm, 446-6969

12th Annual

Industry New Year's Celebration

Ever have a fierce case of FOMO?

You know, that fear of missing out.

Working on New Year's Eve can do that to you, and slinging drinks for drunks having the time of their lives can make it even worse. In recognition of the all those people who missed out on celebrating their way into 2012 because of work, the Alehouse is throwing its annual Industry New Year's Celebration, where you get a

second chance to party. Adam Baldwin and friends will rock you, DJ Mutts will spin your favourites, and that countdown thing? Make like it never happened the night before because at the Alehouse, 2012 really kicks off on January 2. –AS

Sunday January 1, Halifax Alehouse,
