Sleepless in Halifax

Members of band Sleepless Nights release an EP online, begin recording and plan their van’s funeral.

The Sleepless Nights and Myles Deck & The Fuzz tour poster shows a roomy white Dodge Ram van, ready to take on the Canadian road. Sadly, Sleepless Nights members are now planning Bettie White's funeral. "Three days before we were set to leave for this tour, our beloved van broke down to the point of no repair," writes Trevor Murphy, the band's bassist. Leaving the beloved Bettie White behind, the band piled into a twin Dodge Ram carrying Myles Deck & The Fuzz members---"Yep, eight guys, one van, no air conditioning"---and headed to Ontario.  They're driving back this week, in time to un-kink themselves for Saturday's show. Murphy says Sleepless Nights just released its third complimentary EP on its website, The Communication Barrier (thesleeplessnights.com), and will start on the next full-length soon. Myles Deck & The Fuzz will also have a new album out shortly, so keep an eye out for both local releases. Before Sleepless Nights turns in to record, though, there'll be a funeral for Bettie White, to double as a fundraiser for the band that has plenty owing on the broken-down van.
