Yukon Blonde's rambling ways

It's life on the road for the Kelowna boys, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Yukon Blonde's rambling ways
Road warriors, Yukon Blonde.

Yukon Blonde's van has been through a lot over three runs through the US and seven trips across Canada. And while the BC-native vagrant indie-rockers are happy living life on the road (they put everything they own in storage last summer), maybe their van just needed a little breather."She's been amazing. We did nine months of straight touring with her and put about 100,000 kilometres on her last year," praises guitarist Brandon Scott about three hours outside of Montreal where the van called it quits. So the van needed a little TLC, but Yukon Blonde's much the opposite. They're soldiering cross-country for most of February, March and April, happy to be testing out new material on the crowds. They've got a new album in not-so-distant sight, but the near future sees a short break in the spring before festival touring this summer. Sure, the van's tired, but Scott couldn't be happier. "Being on tour feels like home."

Sat Mar 19, The Seahorse Tavern, 1665 Argyle Street, 10pm, $12
