ZENN fuel better than unleaded

To the editor,

Tim Bousquet is quite wrong to state that in Nova Scotia "the ZENN would actually increase GHG emissions, not reduce them" ("A ZENN moment," Reality Bites, July 31).

According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, "Notably, even if battery electric vehicles are recharged with electricity from power plants that use fossil fuels, they are up to 99 percent cleaner than conventional vehicles and can cut global warming emissions by as much as 70 percent." Your readers deserve to know the facts about the environmental benefits of electric vehicles.
