The north end’s newest gang of motorcycle outlaws is all digital, as Orpheus Interactive and Silverback Games gets ready to launch Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect.

The interactive, episodic video game spins-off of the popular FX series, which is wrapping up this month after seven violent, hard-boiled seasons.

It’s the first major release from Orpheus, who acquired the rights last year through a “bit of luck, and a bit of effort.”

“They went down and just wowed the pants off the people at Fox,” product manager Adam Dionne said of his team. “Obviously, it’s a bit weird for a start-up to have something this big. We’re all pretty shocked to come in every day.”

Orpheus will be working on the game with Silverback, another Canadian developer and their neighbour inside the Cornwallis Street complex across from Dee Dee’s Ice Cream.

The SOA game will let players explore an original story involving the fictional motorcycle club, with new episodes regularly released to tablets and mobile phones.

“In keeping with the world [creator Kurt] Sutter has created, this extension of the mythology gives fans a chance to experience the treachery, graphic action, intrigue and life and death decision making the have come to anticipate from the show,” reads a press release.

Dionne says they’ve been working with Sutter and the Sons of Anarchy creative team to get things ramped up. The first episode of Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect is scheduled to debut early next year.
