Bitter servers in the restaurant business over a “certain age”…..GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS! If I have to be served by another surly, inconsiderate, aloof, hung over, 30+, waiter/waitress who treats customers like a bother more than a source of income I’m going to scream. You may not like the fact that office workers arrive in groups at lunch and have limited time to eat but we don’t like it either and it’s just a fact. You may also not like dealing with crowds at night or couples with children on the weekend or whomever but frankly, that’s too dam bad!

I completely understand that you may be less tolerant of the industry than when you were 23 but that doesn’t change the fact that you are still in it as well as that you’re likely now a lot less enjoyable to see when customers walk in the door. I would be complaining that you change your attitudes but I don’t think that’s even possible at this point. I really don’t care what it takes or how you do it but you’ll be doing yourself and everyone else a favor if you find another job and let younger servers handle things. They seem to be able to mentally deal with it better.
