I have a university degree and more than 10 years experience in my field. I left all my jobs on good terms. I am willing to work shiftwork; I don’t have unreasonable salary expectations. But I’ve been unemployed for almost a year, my EI is about to run out and I’m considering taking a job in a call centre. I did the Alberta run once during the oil boom in the ’80s. When I came home I thought it would be for good. But if I don’t get a decent job offer in the very near future, my highly skilled, university-educated ass will be on a train to Alberta.
