|Pubs and Washrooms|
I was very dissappointed to patronize downtown's local establishments on St. Patty's day and here's why. After a night of drinking beer we did what most Haligonians do, we headed off to Pizza Corner for sustance. While on our search for said sustanance we also needed to use the facilities to rid our bladder of said consumed BEER. So we decided the first place we saw we would have food and look after our bladders. Well the first one had OUT of ORDER on the bathroom, so we decided we would eat at the next place which was a national chain by the way. And you guessed it. Their bathroom also said OUT of Order. Well 2 can be a coincedence so on to the 3rd. And low and behold the same message. And so on and so on until there was no where to use the washroom. So as my cousin was about to soil herself we committed and illegal act and literally used the wide open out doors.
Now as all the establishments make a ton of sales on these nights and in checking around I hear this is normal practice downtown on weekends you would think that for the 3 or so hours of the busy part of the night they could perhaps assign one of their minimum wage employees to maintain the bathroom. I am sure the amount would not exceed $30.00. Perhaps the Health Dept. would like to know of the NORMAL practice of closing bathrooms on particular nights when it may be slightly inconvenient for food establishments to allow thier paying clients the right to use the washroom.
Shame on the establishments for being Busy and Profitable.
