When does "indie" become "scene"?
|
So I was at NSCAD the other day, and I had lunch at one of the cafes across the street. Honestly, I've always liked the style of dress that so called "indie" people throw together...don't get me wrong, but when I got enough awkward stares for not wearing leggings and showering that day, it was time for lunch and I had some time to sit down and think about how unique everyone else is. If only I dyed my hair mousey brown, went a week without a shower and only listened to bands nobody else has ever heard of. Then I'd really be diverse. Last time I checked indie was a type of social/professional status, not a word for someone that excludes themselves from everything "mainstream".
