I called a moving company on May 24th to book a truck for my move on July 1st. I made a reservation for a 10’ truck from 9am June 30th to July 2nd at 9am. I was assured that there would be a truck available for that time period, although they could not pinpoint which location I would need to pick up the truck. I received two confirmation emails (one from the Control Manager at their regional office and one from the 460 Windmill Road office). Sounds great!!! That is until I get a call from the Windmill Road location earlier this evening, confirming my reservation for a 14’ truck from 7am to 11am on the 30th!!! I tell them this is not what I’ve booked and give them the confirmation number. They tell me that my confirmation number does not mean anything since it is their policy to ‘not guarantee’ any bookings. I’m told that I can either pick the truck up on Friday and drop it off by 7am on Saturday or pick it up at noon on Sat and drop it off at 7pm that evening. This is useless to me since I have to be out of the old apartment on Friday and can not move into the new one until after 7am on Saturday. After explaining repeatedly that it is impossible for me to move during that time (which is why I previously made the reservation), they say that they could possibly move some rentals around so I can have the truck for the 48 hours. Apparently this is a big deal and I should be eternally grateful to them for taking the time to make these changes. Hello?!?! I booked the rental weeks ago and you guys gave me a confirmation. I shouldn’t have to fight for you guys to hold up your end of the bargain!!!!
