Hello there Halifax,
As a person who works in the health care industry with patients I ask you to please bring your health card to every visit when you know you are coming to a hospital, we are required to ask for it (every visit) and check it to make sure it's valid. I cannot believe the amount of taxes we pay for our privilage of "free" healthcare we have in this provience and people cannot remember to bring the one card that covers them. On the back of your card (take it out every now and then to see if it's still valid) there is even a toll free number to call to get it renewed. Not that hard. I've heard every excuse but if I handed them a bill (for hundreds of dollers in some cases, as my dentist likes to do) I wouldn't hear the end of it. If people would think of their health cards as their credit card for the hospital they soon wouldn't forget, also if they had to pay those bills outright they soon wouldn't forget either. Also, if your here in the city going to university GET YOUR HEALTHCARD FROM YOUR MOMMEY!!!! She can't be everywhere with you everytime your need to get that rash checked!!
