I have read food reviews in this paper that I disagree with but after this week's I could stay silent no longer. I visited "Leorge and Gito's" despite warnings from friends about the food. I ordered the tortellini which was not nearly as tasty as the canned stuff they sell at the grocery store. First off the sauce tasted like it came straight from a can, no spices added, no flavour. It was evident that my dish had been sitting around ( WITH sauce on it) in the fridge for a while. The pasta on the outside was dried hard as a rock and the pasta in the centre was so soggy it fell apart. It was clear that the pasta itself was just over-heated in a microwave because the centre was ice cold while the "sauce" on the outside was baked onto the plate (which itself was hot enough to blister your fingers). My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm with spagetti. Let's start with the chicken: obviously re-heated in a microwave or left over from the day before (or both) b/c it was too dry/tough to even chew. The spagetti noodles had been so overcooked they didn't even hold together when picked up by the fork. I have had some bad meals in Halifax but this was BY FAR the worst.
Do not be fooled by the good review this week. This reviewer has no idea what she is talking about or what constitutes a delicious meal. It is really disappointing that people will support this sub-par business, the Pyramid was much better. Save your money and go grab a falafel.
