Anyone over the age of 65 should either not be allowed to drive OR be required to be re-tested every year. The reason why i say this is because I was almost hit in a CROSSWALK in broad daylight by some old man who was driving a heavy-duty pickup (Lets just say the make is a company that starts with an F and the model also starts with an F and the number after the F is 350). He clearly could not handle the vehicle; he barely stopped in time for me to step into the crosswalk and nearly hit me. This is after I pressed the button to illuminate the caution lights and ensured the people that were approaching the crosswalk had enough time to stop. Normally I'm used to irresponsible drivers in this city, but what really bothered me is that he had the nerve to shoot me a dirty look and lay into his horn. I swear half of the pedestrian fatalities in this city could be avoided by this simple action. Not to mention, all of the extra licenses fee that the city brings in could go to building safer crosswalks.
