Spending christmas alone
|
This year I decided to brave out christmas here in Halifax. That's well and dandy, I got to work a few extra shifts at the depot and spend some well needed time relaxing. But Christmas is also a time for family- something that's in short supply this year thanks to Westjet.
My father tried flying from Vancouver to Halifax a few days ago, and has yet to arrive. Weather cancelled the last leg of his trip and he's now stranded in Toronto. I can't blame wesjet for the weather- but they need to take full responsibility for the fact that they didn't even bother to notify him, after an entire day of trying to get through to customer service, that the next plane that he was to take out was leaving in the next hour.
Him and his girlfriend rushed to the airport to try to catch the boarding call, and because they were ten minutes late, they wern't allowed to get on the plane that was still well situated on the ground at this point.
Just because somebody inputted a telephone number wrong- something that was previously assured to him was done correctly. Well, I guess not.
If the weather holds out, him and his girlfriend MIGHT get here for boxing day. I haven't spent Christmas with my father in over twenty years. Merry fucking Christmas indeed. I'll be spending mine alone thanks to you pricks.
