Facebook or Babybook

Even though I don't use it that often, I think Facebook is a great tool for keeping in touch. My friends from high school and university are spread out all over the place, and it's nice to have a free way of connecting.

I love seeing my friends' wedding photos, baby photos, vacation pics, and whatever else. However, I have several friends who seem to have completely lost their sense of identity, just because they've had children.

Don't get me wrong, I've put a few pictures of my kids on there for my loved ones in other places to see. I'm talking about the friends whose status updates are nothing but "Tammy is watching Jerrod play little league". "Julie is so happy Ben is going to the potty all on his own". "Jennifer is so proud of Laney for putting her face in the water at swimming lessons".

I realize that life is totally different once you have kids. I can't even remember life before my kids. Fortunately though, I've retained enough sense of self that I don't honestly believe anyone is interested in my child's bowel movement, finger painting, or soccer goal.

The reason I'm friends with you is because I'm interested in YOU. Remember, the person who used to have a brain of their own?
