People need to learn that when you see a dog tied up and their owner is not around you don't pet the dog!!! You don't know if that dog is friendly or not!!! Dogs are very territorial animals! When they are tied up they get very protective of themselves and if a stranger approaches them and tries to touch them their main defense mechanism is to bark or bite since they can't run away! If you do try to pet them please let them sniff your hand first!! Don't put your hand in their face trying to pet their head, the dog thinks that you're going to hit them and will try to protect themselves. Also older dogs might have cataracts which blurs their vision!! So the moral of this Bitch is please don't pet a dog who's tied up!! Its not worth the risk!! —Concerned owner of an aging dog
