Packing Up

Posted on Fri, Apr 8, 2011 at 10:23 AM

University is a place were people come to get a higher level of education. Some people come here with a plan for their future and some do not. Some people spend their weekends drinking, and some do not. And above all some people are more mature than other people. In kindergarten, we all learn VERY important lessons, like put your hand up when you have a question or use words to solve your problems. For most people these lessons stuck, but the one lesson that does not seem to stick is DON'T TALK WHILE YOUR TEACHER IS TALKING. In 100 percent of my classes this year, the same problem occurs, the clock is at five minutes to the end of class, and everyone begins to pack up and chat with their neighbours, all the while, the professor who is still trying to finish the lecture is being drowned out by the clicking of binders, the ruffling of papers, and the chatting of students. It is rude and inconsiderate. Classes end at a certain time for a reason. There is no grey area, it is simply black and white. Don't talk or pack up until the teacher says the class is over. A very simple solution, to an extremely frustrating problem. —ST
