I believe that texting is one of the biggest social barriers in today’s society. To me, there is nothing more obnoxious than when I’m hanging out and talking with friends, and without warning they whip out their phone and practically forget I’m there. Sometimes I could be in the middle of a sentence and I hear that bzzz bzzz bzzz and I roll my eyes and wait for them to rejoin the dialogue. I mean am I really that unimportant to you? Taking out a phone and starting to text is like saying that the conversation is too boring for you. You can claim you’re still listening, but your focus is obviously somewhere else. Can I just pick up a magazine, hold it in front of your face and read it while you’re talking, is that okay too? Technology is making it easier to communicate with people around the world, but nearly impossible when you’re three feet away from each other. —Supporter of Mouth-Words
