Hfx: Loser Concert Venue

Why must Halifax and Moncton fight over whichever 30 year old, washed-up, bands they want to attract to their little cities, and then lose money on the shows? I decided I wanted to see a band while they were still relevant and went to Philadelphia last week to see Rise Against. I figured if I waited until they came to Halifax/Moncton it would be 2045, Tim McIlrath would be performing with a walker, and I would be in an old folks' home with Alzheimer's and wouldn't remember who the hell they were anyway. Now get this: The ticket price for (sold-out) shows was $35—a steal. Even after-market (scalper) prices were the same or less than what that idiot failed promoter was charging for his concerts last year. And... the R.A. shows made money! No Philly homeowners had to pay higher property taxes to bail them out. Screw you, Halifax. You deserve a steady diet of Justin Bieber. —Disgruntled Hardcore Fan
