The Slammers

Posted on Mon, Feb 27, 2012 at 12:54 PM

Ok, the set up is my side of the equation which the neighbours don't know or care if they do. I was in an accident about 6 years ago, suffer chronic pain as a result, makes it hard to get a good sleep. Anything longer than 2 hours for me is a good sleep. Also I get that it's unrealistic on any level, to expect people that are pretty much strangers, to take my pain into account. Just like I miss what is affecting other folks. In other words, I try to be patient.

So for over a year now you and your kid have lived under us. My partner came up with the name "The Slammers", because as understanding as she is, she does not understand why you have to slam every door, cabinet, whatever it seems. All the time. I'm in my 50's now and have lived in all kinds of buildings, but never before has someone that lived under me been so hard to put up with. You also love to prop the door leading upstairs open and smoke. We don't, and even if you sit outside on the stairs it drifts right into our bedroom window. Again we have been patient. Why fight over small things? Well they are piling up.

And of course the pain is getting worse simultaneously. The last 2 weeks being unable to sleep more than an hour. So of course what happens Friday night, a party till after 1am, with tons of people screaming over the cranked music. And then to boot it starts up again at 7am. Then later my partner tries to talk to you, the adult, and it was obvious it fell on deaf ears. You start whining like one of those characters on SNL, "oh they're just teenagers..." WTF!!!!! Great parenting skills there mom, just make excuse for their behaviour. Are you going to even make them pick up the garbage that was strewn around the parking lot? I know you won't. Just like at Christmas when I let you borrow tools to help set the tree up. Could you be bothered to even bring them back and say thanks? No you left them in the hallway, for anyone to walk away with. Shows you only think about you.

Well we've also been kind enough to let you piggy back on our wireless. That stops. Takes 20 seconds to log in and disable it. If you hadn't try to defend the noise you constantly make, I might have continued to be patient. So I guess you'll have to read this somewhere other than home. I really hate having to play this way with neighbours, but it is what it is. —Camel With Too Much Straw on His Back
