Stealing my recyclables

I put half a blue bag full of recyclables in my private back yard, and the next day they are gone. The recyclables are mine. My yard is private property. I am having to buy more blue bags than I need to, which is an added expense, and can't be good for the environment. The fact that a stranger is coming into my yard on a regular basis makes me feel uncomfortable. The fact that if I want to save my own recyclables to bring to the bottle depot I have to keep them inside my house is annoying. Collecting recyclables that are tossed out in the trash is a commendable public service. Stealing recyclables from other people's yards is a crime. —Annoyed in the West End
