Bitchin' about Love

I don't understand how some guys are so oblivious to the girls they date. Yes, I'm in love with you. Yes, I'm just your best friend. Yes, you're in love with her (tale as old as time). But, your family loves me, and she doesn't even bother to acknowledge them. You say you're not making a choice between her and them, but you are.

I hate it that I know so many things about her that I would never tell you, because you would hate me rather than her, but I'm afraid you're going to make a choice you will have to live with, and it will destroy you. I've heard her talking about your family to her friends, and I know how much you love them, so I can't imagine what you would do if you know. But we can't talk about this, because you wouldn't believe me. You're so busy being defensive of a relationship that none of your friends or family supports because she's not good for you. Yes, I'm jealous. Yes, I wish you were with me, but most of all, I wish you would open your eyes and realize that the decisions you are making today are driving you further from the people who love you, and one day you won't be able to find your way back. She's burning all your bridges, and you're pouring on the gasoline.

You're worth so much more than this...or at least I am. Goodbye? —Torn between love and hate.
