Street Hounders

I enjoy my strolls downtown. I enjoy people watching, the nice weather, friends' company, etc. What I don't enjoy is being hounded on the street mid-enjoyment by persons trying to get me join/root for their cause. I understand how difficult it is to stand on the sidewalk trying to hound people down, most of whom ignore you, however I always go out of my way to at least say hello, let you know that I support what you're all doing, but that I don't have time in my day-today life to actually help/contribute/give my time. I wish I could, but I don't have money to donate, and between working full-time and attending classes full-time I don't even have time to give. My walks downtown once every couple of weeks are all the free time I get... I just have OTHER things that need to come first. I'm all for a greener Halifax, for helping the earth and those less fortunate, and I do what I can (honestly). BUT, when I say "no thanks, have a great day regardless", please leave me be, otherwise it makes me want to start ignoring you altogether like most others do. —wandering
