hit and run punk

A couple of weeks ago someone backed into my little grey truck, basically caving in a large area above a back wheel. It seems to have been a red vehicle that hit me; I found a small paint chip in the center of the big 'ol caved in area. The hit man/woman drove away without leaving me a note. Accidents happen but not taking responsibility for them is selfish and cowardly. You don't know if the person you've hit will be able to afford the repairs - maybe they are a student or parent or otherwise someone who would have a hard time affording to repair the damage you've caused. I've heard of this happening to others, including people putting fake notes on windsheilds so that witnesses think the hit and run punk is owning up to the damage. Dear Haligonians, lets keep an eye out for each other. If you see an accident happen to a vehicle whose owner isn't around, take a photo on your phone and/or leave a note on the damaged vehicle describing what you saw. It will only take a moment of your time and it will make a positive difference in someones life. Unfortunately, there are some people out there who don't share our neighbourly maritime spirit. Lets watch out for each other! —ocean girl
