Dirty Old Town

Oh poor, dear Halifax. You are lovely and it makes me sad that your streets at night run with the piss of students, tourists, revelers—bladder challenged people who spray a fine mist of urine on your walls, buildings, shrubs and trees. It's not your fault, Halifax, that you reek like the most foul urinal that you have become. It's not even the fault of the bladder-challenged piss hoses that misuse you as a free range public toilet. No, it's the fault of the municipality, for not addressing the need for clean, private, accessible places to pee. Imagine having a house party, inviting 57,000 people to your home and giving them no place to use the toilet. Your lawn will be dead by morning—every corner, nook and cranny fouled by the urine of guests YOU invited. It's not their fault. It's yours. Your fault, HRM. Shame on you for inviting so many people over for a visit and then giving them no place to relieve themselves but on the city itself. What are you—SAVAGES? —Pissed off in Halifax
