Guilty until you leave the shop

Posted on Fri, Oct 2, 2015 at 4:00 AM

What is it with my being followed/stalked every time I go shopping here? As soon as I enter an establishment security seem to straighten up and become more alert.  They follow me everywhere I go (on supposed rounds). It doesn't matter if I have been to the shop many times before or not, I always have a constant cling-on. (Not to be confused with the noble Klingon.)

I am not sure if it has something to do with my being of obvious African descent or not (Ha ha ha). It does not matter if the cling-on Inspector Clouseau is non-brown or brown, they all seem to have been fed the same line. I was even accused of 'casing a joint.’  What the hey?! Someone told me it is a global phenomenon called 'Shopping while Black' in the United States. —CR

Downtown Parking woes

Posted on Tue, Aug 4, 2015 at 4:00 AM

So its only 25 dollars, so I don't expect any sympathy, but hear me out. Parked in two hour (Mon-Fri 8-4) parking. After an hour 45 I left. Came back to the same area or parking zone as they call it, some two hours later. I park in close proximity ( 2 cars away) from where I was earlier. half hour later, BOOM! ticket, for parking over 2 hours. Why are these parking dicks so obsessed with every minor violation as well as making up violations. Basically HRM's interpretation of a 2 hour parking sign is that you can only park there (in that zone) for 2 hours any given day. Can't find this anywhere in a by law. Tried fighting it, also a big FAIL. Next step court... doesn't seem worth it... but tempting... —Classic bitch

Bread—seven dollars/loaf

Posted on Thu, May 14, 2015 at 4:00 AM

Why are farmer's markets suffering? Dear, no bread in the world is worth that much. When you responded that the price of your lilies were $12 each is why her face soured and she walked away. You see, greed is powerful. Jack up the price too much and it goes from being quality to a plain old rip-off. Had the pickles been six dollars/jar I would have bought a couple jars, but I bought none because your greed over-balances the price. Yes, you sold some. Some. Imagine how many you could have sold. —Not Stupid
