Just wanted to send some love to NSCAD. To those of you out there who think that this is just another sink hole for your tax dollars and can't see the point of the government spending money on arts education when you could be educating lawyers at a lower cost, let me point out that NSCAD is almost single handedly responsible for cultivating and maintaining the arts scene that makes Halifax the cultural hub of the east coast. That culture is what brings in the tourists. It's what brings students from all across the country to all of the other universities in the city as well. As the school is being threatened with mergers and crippling cuts, I hope people keep in mind just how much NSCAD has done for this town. Halifax needs NSCAD. Nova Scotia needs NSCAD. I need NSCAD.
