So, it's been awhile since I have frequented a library. I've got a huge stack of DVDs I've bought, watched once and they collect dust. So today I got a library card. The librarian gave me a pamphlet and a detailed description of the library services. I was impressed. I borrowed some DVDs and will be back for some of the other programs that the library offers that I had not known about before. —New to Town

After a gruelling year of self-loathing with an unhealthy dose of shitty coping methods, I'm ready to love myself. I live in an amazing city with beautiful people. It's a place I dreamed about going to growing up. There are always things you can bitch about, but come on. You live in Halifax. I live in Halifax. I am going to be happy. —Hopeful

You play both Flag and Touch football, and just recently got back from Sweden. I watched you play only a handful of times and just wanted to say that I have a huge crush and am very attracted to you, only thing is I'm attached and you know him very well. I'm not sure if you are attached because I really don't know you. I must say you make going to watch the game a hell of a lot better. I can't wait till you play the same team again... —Eye Candy

I am putting it out into the universe: I am ready for a real relationship.
There were times when I thought I was, but wasn't. I have learned about myself over time and quite a bit recently. From my successes and from my mistakes. From what others have taught me. Through actions, through words, through silence.
Yet relationships are still a bit of a mystery to me. I suppose they might always be. I suppose they are for everyone. So much unknown. So much that is impossible to anticipate or fully understand.
I cannot predict how it will begin or end, let alone what will happen in between.
Maybe I'll reconnect with someone I've dated before when the timing wasn't right. Maybe you'll make first contact since I hand-wrote you my email the other night. Maybe I haven't met you yet.
I'm not in a rush. I'm still working on me. But things are pretty damn good over here.
Just you wait and see. —In Progress

Bike was locked up on Agricola Street but the lock was cut and it was stolen. The thieves brought it to a bike shop on Barrington and tried to sell it, but the folks at the shop could tell something was up. They went to check Kijiji and saw my post about a stolen bike. They called the police, and the thieves were caught and arrested at the ferry terminal (they were trying to get to a different bike shop in Dartmouth). Needless to say, I have my bike back which is beyond amazing and unexpected, all thanks to some awesome folks at the bike shop! —Kona Dew

I live in the building next door and your window faces the alley between our buildings. You're always sitting in your chair next to the window reading (you're a dark-haired male). Sometimes I try to catch your eye/attention when I'm walking by, but you're just too consumed in your books to notice... —Your Friendly Female Tobin Street Neighbour

To the girls in the back of the 80 on Monday night who said I was cute as I got off the bus...I dunno why I rolled my eyes and ignored you, that was a nice thing to say and it's not often guys get compliments from random strangers on buses. So thanks a lot, you made my night and sorry for not smiling at you! —Off Guard

You are a construction worker on top of a hotel looking incredibly hot in working pants and red safety straps across your chest with no shirt. Definitely something to behold. Just a guy who can really appreciate another guy. —The Big D

On the weekend I lost a wallet downtown and was really devastated about the thought of replacing all of the cards inside my wallet. The following day my wallet was in my mailbox and I thought I would never see it again. I wish I would have been home when you returned my wallet so I could thank you. Its nice to see that there are still good people out there. Thank you! —A Night on the Town

I can't wait to walk in the door with a six pack and give all you guys, and Frett, and the cats the biggest hugs ever. You guys rock, and I'm so stoked for another round of open mics. P.S. I sent beer from Alaska in the mail today. I miss you kids. —Lil Yuk
