Where's the positivity?

I get it. Its tough out there. Like real tough. I'm also prone to sad chats that consist of despairing questions and shaking fists. I say, "Where can we go from here? Things are really getting worse and worse," and even on occasion "$%& this province.” But we need to find a silver lining to this dark story that we keep telling each other. I think we've got to find a reason to fight, to stay, to make it work. And I don't think our reason for caring is going to come from outside opportunities, or the established folks or the experts. I think it has to come from our own individual little changes, our own smiles and our ability to find moments of generosity, creativity and ingenuity here. I'm not saying that we should ignore the issues. Please don't ignore the problems, or the corruption or the injustice. Let's not get apathetic. Instead of pointing my finger at your youth, or your pension or your politics, I just want to hold you when it gets rough. Because I like this place...you could even say I love it. And I really want to stay and I really want to stay here with you. —Precarious Optimist
