We met years ago and became friends. I always hoped something more would happen, and I know that you did too. And then it did. And then I screwed it up by not recognizing what I had. I wanted to wake up beside you, but instead I walked the other way. I regret that, lovely one, and I miss your laughter. I haven't spoken to you in months, but every now and then I think of reaching out to you to ask for another chance and to tell you that this time I would love you ferociously. But I need to get my shit together first, because I don't want to hurt you. Just know this; if somehow you are reading this, even if we are only memories to each other, I'll love you forever and treasure that kiss that felt like a song. —Your Old Friend

All the lights and colour make the shadows even darker. The songs just echo in the emptiness. Even if you have somewhere to be, it feels like there’s nowhere you can go. If you’re reading this, know that I love you. We’ll make it through this together, even if we’ve never met. Merry Christmas. —The Next Day Life Went Back To Its Bad Self

I have several crushes on several schoolmates/maybe just ONE prof, too...but with a track record of ONLY ever being rejected when initiating romantic matters, I am struggling at playing it cool but still expressing interest. Oh, well. Since there are so many of you attractive humans (of all genders) in this town, I am okay with wallowing a bit longer. —Art School Cyclist

I want to give a shout out to the folks at a very Noble store on Oxford street. I recently used services at your sister location and had a really bad experience. When I popped into your Oxford location to fix the situation and explained what had happened (not looking to gain anything, rather, just to explain why I was there for what I needed), the employee went way, WAY above and beyond what I could have imagined for customer service. He was funny, helpful, sympathetic and just had a gift for turning a negative situation into a positive one. It’s nice to see the art of good customer service isn’t lost after all. —Not One To “Wine”

Your mom keeps telling me how great of a guy you are and that we would be perfect together. She is sweet and I'm sure you wouldn't want to get involved with a girl that your mom picked out for you. I'll wait for you to make a move! —That guy

I just have to say how cute you are & that seeing you brightened my day =) my friend & I came into your store. You were almost blending in with the clothes rack where you were standing but I noticed you just before you greeted us! I instantly smiled.. I was having a lousy couple of days & finally sucked it up to go in public. I'm so glad I did because your little smile cheered me up instantly. You were short & had a hat on. My friend & I were trying to get a sweater off the top rack, I went to look for you to help but then you were gone from the spot I saw you. My friend found a tall guy to help! As we were paying for our things I saw you again =) you seemed so shy but you said something like "have a good day guys" after we passed. I said "good thanks" in return. Thinking you said how was your day guys lol. Flustered maybe. I'm not sure but I realized as we got out the store what you really said. I just want to let you know that I wish I would have said hello & maybe tried to talk to you. You look like a sweet heart!! I'm not from the area so I'll probably never see you again but I hope you're holidays are great & that you have many reasons to smile!! =). You made my day just by being there Sunday after noon. Thank you —Sweat pants, sweater & not so cute hair do.

To the nice guy who introduced himself to me in the food court - very brave! I got flustered and didn't ask anything about you. I'll try the Indian food some time. Hopefully I'll see ya around. —Blushing smoothie girl

Overheard in the local park:
Middle-aged man to younger man smoking a cigarette: "Buddy! You can't smoke here!"
Younger man: "I'm pretty sure I can."
Older man: "You can't! It's the law!"
*Older man points at a sign nearby*
Younger man: "That says that dogs have to be on a leash."

Crossing your path while walking my pup at Shubie makes my day. You have caught my interest like no guy has in a very long time and the butterflies in my belly do a little dance every time our eyes meet. I think you, your sexy voice and tattoos are very sexy. I hope the admiration is mutual. —Shubie Girl

So I was studying at Dal sometime last spring, when a guy (NSCAD student from China) came and asked my opinion about a project he was working on. If you're reading this and remember me, I'm sorry I laughed at your idea to open a cat cafe. I didn't realize you were serious—or that it was actually a thing! I actually found one in Montreal and loved it! I hope you go for it. I bet you'd be right and it would be a big hit here in Halifax.  :) —coffee and cats please ;)
