My landlord showed up early for the first time in about four years to snow plough our back parking lot-usually I am left to shovel myself out if I need to be anywhere in the morning after a snow storm. It looked like going to work later would be a breeze, and it meant no shovelling for me. It was a good morning!
Heading out later, I was so sad to see the snow plough had left a mountain of a snow bank-shovelling would be the only way out to the road for me. I knew my land lord would not be back to plough again, so I slowly headed back up to dig out the shovel I was so sure I wouldn't need, and against every bone in my body started shoveling in my work clothes.
You were ploughing the other side of the road and must have read my mind, because you looped the block, came back and ploughed the bank for me-thank you for taking the time to come back and recuse me from shovelling. Your act of kindness meant I got to work on time, no acing muscles or sore back, or make-up running down and off my face from the sweat I normally break into after only a few minutes of lifting snow. I wish you many happy snow days! —SDD
